Product Stewardship is the responsible and ethical management of a product throughout its life cycle, from its invention, through to its ultimate use and beyond.
The two main objectives of product stewardship is (1) to minimize the potential risks to human health and the environment and (2) to maximize the benefits derived from product use.
It is critical that we in the agrochemical industry practice Product Stewardship as well as educate users about its importance. Last March 19, 2016, we participated in AGAP’s First Stewardship Project held at Digos, Davao del Sur. A contest, Premyo sa Basyo Mo, was held together with other participating Crop Protection companies. The contest promoted the Triple Rinse practice for cleaning the used bottles and containers of pesticides as well as proper disposal as the containers were brought to the site. LEADS Agri, as a major sponsor of the event gave out additional prizes and give-aways in exchange of the empty containers.
The Mindanao team, our Technial VP, and our President were present to show full support of the program because we at LEADS Agri are serious about taking responsibility in Product Stewardship. We want sustainability and we care for the environment.
The winners of the goats were users of LEADS Agri Products. Congratulations again!
